Building Colour Consultancy: Projects

Wyndham Vale Community Health Centre

Working in conjunction with architect John Henry of Woodhead International, this community health centre has become an interesting and dynamic health facility.
The Wyndham Vale Community Health Centre offers ISIS primary care, paediatric, psychiatric, youth and dental services. The use of saturated hues in lightwells and feature walls creates an atmosphere of warmth and activity in an otherwise beige environment.

The Brief
While maintaining a clean and neutral look, Woodhead International architect John Henry wanted a warm and non-sterile identity for this community health centre. He wanted to focus the use of colour in skylights and lightwells throughout the building, with the goal of creating colour washes on the warm yet neutral walls.
Main Concerns
- Colour not just as decoration, but working with the architectural features to achieve the architect's intention

Colour Selection Criteria
- Volume of corridors, waiting areas and consultation rooms
- External and internal light sources
