VU Student Clinic, St Albans Campus
The Brief
A need to increase client numbers from within and off campus necessitated the rethink of the atmosphere required for a shift from university professional practice rooms to a professional clinic environment for the 10 rooms and Reception areas.
Colour Selection Criteria
Traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, natural medicine storage and prescription pitches the key for colour and congruity with this complementary medical practice. Existing earthy red carpet and decorative banner, colorbond reception windows and Jade Buddha statue presented colour cues for a refreshing yet relaxing waiting room and Reception and Record Offices.
There is a need for a warm latte neutrals to be counterpointed with saturated feature colours alternating throughout the treatment rooms to bring visual interest and orientation along the multiple corridors.
