Nido residence
The Brief
This architect designed home contains several different surfaces and textures. Stained glass doors create a major feature of the home as does the upstairs portico landing. Existing Colorbond roller doors in the adjoining garage, terracotta roof tiles and 1st storey clerestory windows make this home a significant landmark in Yarraville.
Colour Selection Criteria
Render colour needed to relate to the adjoining Victorian mansion and garden. Colours needed to complement the terracotta tiles while emphasizing the textural element of shingles in repeated small areas of gables.
A small backyard and terracotta paving required a light and airiness rather than intensity and weight.
