The Riverview Function Centre, Footscray
The Riverview Function Centre in Footscray and Living Colour Studio have worked together to create a unique identity for the Centre that clients will never forget!

Mathew Cull of the Riverview Function Centre says:
“We wanted our venue to have a unique business identity and Catherine van Wilgenburg helped us achieve this with the painting Maribyrnong River Night Light. It brings the Maribyrnong River right inside the venue. The painting layers the unique characteristics of the sparkling city reflected in the river, the moving palm trees fringing the river’s edge and the industrial images of Giant Red Cranes of the Docklands.
We have now created a specific character for our venue with both our menu and ambience that work together to leave the client with a pleasant taste in their mouth and make them want to return and refer us to their friends!”
Says visual artist Catherine van Wilgenburg of Living Colour Studio:
“This painting completes all the aspects of the space to make that WOW factor! It is more than decoration – it has been created with a complete business vision in mind from the mission statement to the corporate image. It communicates a contemporary approach to the riverscape with layered and textured fragments of river motifs in fields of colour.
I am in the business of enlivening spaces in colour with both paintings and Building Colour Consultancy. The business of art is to invigorate and maximise the look and feel of the space. That is what gives a space its unique identity. It’s what the image generates in the space that counts!”
The Riverview Function Centre is a fully licensed venue situated on the banks of the Maribyrnong River opposite the Flemington Race Course. With its large terrace area and superb views down the river to the city, it is the ideal venue for any occasion – weddings, 21st birthdays, dinner dances, or cocktail parties.
The Riverview is also chosen by many business and government organisations to hold seminars and conferences. All seminar needs can be met in house from AV equipment to whiteboards right down to pens and paper.
