Saxby Residence, Newport

Saxby residence

Kerry and Claire Saxby and their three boys, aged between 11-15 years, needed to maximise the space for general household storage as well as storage in their own rooms. Another priority was organisation for clothes washing and easy access to clean clothes for the kids so they can hang up their own clothes once they have been ironed!

More light needed to be brought into the family room; the light well with off white and light blue walls achieved a lively bright space.

The corridor connecting the original dwelling with the ablution area, and into the new lounge study areas of the new addition, makes the home easy to move in and around.

Making an addition to a dwelling requires integrating the functions of the original dwelling with the new lifestyle requirements, considering every tiny space as useful and important.
